How to obtain your learner’s license

The process for obtaining your learner's permit is as follows:

  1. Gather the necessary documents you will need for your learner's permit. See right below which documents you willl need based on your case.

  2. Contact our office to arrange your appointment and we will prepare your application.

  3. Our office staff will guide you through the next steps required to obtain or renew your learner's permit.

  4. Study the traffic signs guide either from our website or from the road code we will send you after the confirmation of your appointment.

In order to obtain a license in Cyprus, you have to have a valid ID or residence permit and be able to prove that you are living here for at least six months in the past 12 months. The Road Department requires specific documents to prove your six months residency based on the category you belong to.

Keep in mind that all of the documents provided will need to be original and have stamps and signatures from the corresponding department.

  • If you hold a Cypriot ID, obtaining or renewing your learner's license is hassle-free. We handle the entire process from start to finish.   • If you hold a residence permit, obtaining or renewing your learner's license is hassle-free. Simply provide us with your residence permit card (non-EU citizens) or Yellow Slip (EU citizens) , passport and two ID-sized photos (3.5x4.5cm), which we can even prepare for you if needed. While you'll only need to attend the traffic signs test, we take care of all other government procedures, sparing you from any unnecessary inconvenience.

    1. Residence Permit Card (non-EU) or Yellow Slip (EU)

    2. Passport (optional)

    3. Two ID-sized photos (3.5x4.5cm)

  • If you're a student in Cyprus, it's likely you don't have social insurance in your name, and that's fine. You can use other documents to prove your six months residency in Cyprus. Alongside your residence permit card (non-EU citizens) or Yellow Slip (EU citizens) and passport, you'll need to provide at least three of the following documents to demonstrate your residency in Cyprus for the past six months: utility bills, bank statements, phone bills, lease/rental agreement, or university attendance certificate.

  • If you're living in Cyprus but you are not working or for any other reason you don’t have social insurance on your name then you can use other documents to prove your six months residency in Cyprus. Alongside your residence permit card (non-EU citizens) or Yellow Slip (EU citizens) and passport, you'll need to provide at least three of the following documents to demonstrate your residency in Cyprus for the past six months: utility bills, bank statements, phone bills, lease/rental agreement.
